A SWALLOW’S PATH

Following the Migratory Journey of a Swallow

The Brief  The aim of this project was to explore paper engineering or book binding to make a mini installation to go on display in the university library.

The Outcome   I created a four-page carousel book exploring the changing seasons through the migration of a swallow. Rather than a traditional book, it is designed as a three-dimensional display piece for a child's room, combining storytelling with decorative design.

The circular carousel structure reflects the cyclical nature of the swallow's migration and the four seasons. As the book opens, each page reveals a different seasonal landscape, encouraging the viewer to follow the swallow's journey.

The curved, layered landscapes create a natural sense of flow, while the flowing text guides the narrative, illustrating the swallow's migration in a simple and engaging way.
